The time ball is dropped dally, Sunday, and holidays excepted, at 1 o'clock p.m., New Zealand mean time, which is equivalent to 13.80 Greenwich mean time of the previous day, being calculated for th? HO* 30/ East Longitude, and llhr 30mI v fast of Greenwich mean time. The ball will be raised at about 2mln & I p.m., and will be at the top about In to 1 p.m. When taking the time be careful to Bote the exact moment the ball leave* the bop of the mast. Should the bail not drop at the proper tans, it will be kept at the cop for at lease. wo minutes, and then lowered siowly.
