(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) DUNEDIN, May 20. At the annual communication of the District Grand Lodge of Otago and Southland, E.C., Bro. Sydney James was invested as D.D.G.M., vice Sir Robert Stout. T. S. Graham, D.G.M., spoke in feeling terms of the death "at Auckland of G. P. Pierce, Prov.G.M., Irish Constitution, and stated that a message of condolence had been sent to Mrs Pierce. The D.G. Secretary read the resignation of Sir R. Stout of his office aa D.D.G.M., after which the D.G.M. expressed his regret that any act of his late deputy should have resulted in his complete severance from English Freemasonry, Bro. Stout having resigned in his private Lodge as well. He then read the steps taken by the Grand Lodge of England, and the resolution passed removing Sir R. Stout from his rank and status as grand officer of the Grand Lodge of England, and went on to say that the Grand Xodge having dealt with the matter, he had now to rule that Sir R. Stout is ho longer a member of the English Constitution, and there was nothing to place before the Lodge or Board of General Purfoses for adjudication in the matter directed y the Grand Lodge of England. This he said closed a painful subject, which all deeply regretted had occurred.

The regular monthly meeting of the Lodge of Concord, N.Z.C., Papanui, will be held this evening at the Masonic Hall, Papanui, at 7.30. The officers of the. District Grand Lodge, E.C., will proceed in a few days to Kaikoura, to conduct the ceremony of installation of the W.M there, and the investiture of his officers. On the previous occasion the installation was conducted in Christchurch at the St. Augustine Lodge. At the monthly meeting of the Amberley Masonic Lodge, No. 2007 8.C., held in the Church of England Schoolroom on Tuesday evening, Bro. C. B. Mason (re-elected) was installed as W.M. for the ensuing year, aud P.M. Bro. Fox as I.P.M. The following officers were invested:—J."Dawson, S.W.; E. Pemberton, J.W.; J. Geddes, Treasurer (reelected) ; J. S. Smith, Secretary (reelected) ; T. McNaught, D.C. (re-elected); R. Thompson, S.D.; J. Musgrove, J.D.; J.C. Thompson, I.G. After the business of the evening was over, the brethren were invited by the W.M. to his residence, where a tastefully laid out supper was. proTided, and a pleasant hour spent.
