Mejidie, 13sec, was omitted in the Maiden Harness at the Lower Heathcote Racing Club's Meeting. The express for Dunedin yesterday morning took some more horses South to fulfil their Dunedin engagements. Mr Harry Piper went in charge of Hazel, and Mr H. Lunn had Mr D. Rutherford's pair, Kulnine and Ahua, with him. It has been decided by the Committee of the Ashburton Racing Club to top dress the running track. The Ground Committee b..vc been authorised to inspect grand stands at other places, and obtain professional assistance to enable them to bring up a report upon the repair or re-building of the grand stand on the Club's course. The Stewards, at their meeting held on Saturday evening, received a letter from H. Smith (who had been warned off the course for insolence at the late race meeting) tendering an apology, and asking for a mitigation of the penalty imposed on him. It was resolved that the application could not be entertained at present.
