ACCIDENT AT HAWERA RACES.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) HAWERA, May 14. The steeplechaser Sir Maurice died in consequence of the injuries received by a fall in a race yesterday. The rider, Miller, is in a bad state in the Hospital. [In connection with the above, we learn that a telegram has been received by Miller's relatives in Christchurch stating that, although he is very much shaken, it is anticipated there will be no difficulty in the way of removing him to Wellington tomorrow.]
