THE SOUTH AFRICAN DIFFICULTY.
[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Received May 14th, 11.3- a.n_. Capetown, May 13. The leaders of the Boer expedition to Mashonaland are confident of the success of the undertaking. Willougbby, leader of the pioneer expedition to Mashonaland, officially denies the correctness of the explanation of the Portuguese who fired on the British steamer Agnes, which was conveying the party up the Puugwe River. Received May loth. 12.30 a.m. Lisbon, May 14. It is reported here that the AugloPortugueae difficulty in Southern Africa has been settled, and that perfect tranquility prevails.
