CLYDESDALE STUD BOOK.
The thirteenth volume of " The Clydesdale Stud Book" of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland has recently been Issued, and as usual copies have come to hand. In issuing this volume the council of the society remark that there is nothing new on which to comment. The foreign demand during the past year was slacker than ib had been for the three years previous, and consequently the number of entries—and especially of stallion entries—is less than Iα the laet three volumes. There are here recorded 1,275 entries of living fools, the produce of mares already entered, 1,009 entries of brood, mares with produce for the first time, and 687 entries of stallions—» total of 2,971 fresh entries. Portrait! are given of the stallion Sir Everard (5,353) and the mare Scottish Marchioness. The former was awarded the premium of the, Glasgow Agricultural Society at the Spring Stallion show in. 1888,1889, and 1880, and wax second in the open class at the same show, and at the Highland and Agricultural Society's Show at Melrose in 1889, and first in the open class at the Glasgow Stallion Show in 1890, Scottish Marchioness was first prize brood mare at the Highland and Agricultural Society's Show at Dundee And at the Glasgow Summer Show, also champion female Clydesdale at Kilmar-no->k end Marybill in 1860.
