Tko time ball ie dropped daily, Sundays And holidays excepted, at 1 o'clock p.m., T«w Zealand mean time, which ie equivaJeztt to 18.30 Greenwich mean time of the previous day, being calculated for the ttft Sff Bast Longitude, and llhr 80min list of Greenwich mean time. The ball will be raised at about 2min tol p.m., and will be at the cop about to 1 p.m. "When taking the time be careful to BOM the exact moment the ball leaves the ton of the mast. Should the ball not drop at the proper time, it will be kept at the top for at leadt two minutes, and then lowered slowly.
