WORKING MEN'S CO-OPERA-TIVE SOCIETY.

The fifth quarterly meeting of the Christchurch Working Men's Co-operative Society was held at the Trades Hall last evening. There were about sixty members present, and the chair was occupied by the President, Mr J. Hislop. The Committeein their report congratulated members on the position the Society occupied The cash sales for the past quarter bad been £1052 15s 4d, an average of over £80 per week. The divisible profit, after painjc all working expenses, amounted to £49 9s 4Jd; and the Committee recommended that it be used in the following manner :— Bonus on paid up capital ac 6 per cent, per annum, £4 lis 4sd ; bonus on members purchases, at 9d in the £, £28 19alid; bonus on non-members'purchases at 4d In the £, £4 15s 3d; bonus on wages at 9d in the £, £2 Os 4d; depreciation on fixed stock, £5; reserve fund, £2; balance to be carried forward, £2 2s 6d. Total, £49 4s 4_d. The report and balance-sheet was unanimously adopted. Mr J. B. Jackson were elected President, Mr D. Booth, Vice-President; Mr btaailand, Auditor and Messrs J. Hislop, J. Chapman and W. Bultitude Committee men. It was decided to pay out the bonuses on Saturday next.
