BEEFTON, Feornary 3. No. 2 Dark—The work done during the past month has been confined to stoping No. 2 level. Thirty fathoms of stoping has been completed. The reef continues to look welL both in size and quality, and the manager anticipates keeping the battery supplied with quartz for a considerable time. The battery pnt through 260 tons for 6960z of amalgam. Globe—The manager reports that No. 4 level has been extended 16ft during the past week, making a total of 99ft. The ground is still-very hard. According to the underlay the reef should be met with in another 20ft.

Progress—The amount of stone crushed for the month was 1000 tons. Twentynine men are employed in and about the mine, twelve of whom are getting ont stone. The mine is looking very well. The block now being opened and driven on along the east of No. 2 block is showing gold freely. The stone is about 6ft wide, clean, and with splendid walls. He cannot say how far this stone will carry as yet, bat it is believed to be an extensive block. Filling in the east end will be done this week, and next week a small drive about 80ft from the top level will be put in to intercept Black's block, which it it is thought will be reached in a few feet.

Keep-it-Dark—The new winze is down 93ft. The reef is still going with the same underlie, about sin to the foot. It is not yet broken into, but it looks a strong body of stone. Be the battery level, the reef continues the same width. They will not be able to keep the fifteen heads going for a few weeks yet.
