WAIMAKARIRI HARBOR. BOARD.

The monthly meeting: of the Wainaakarlri Harbor Board was field Iα the Kaiapoi Municipal Chamber ou Monday evening. Present—Messrs W. Fraser (ehairmaa pro tern.), Smethurst. Horrell, Blakeley, Feldwlck and Mathews. Letters were read— From Returning Officer, Eyretoa Road District, notifying election of Messrs B. Moore and R. Evans as members of the Harbor Board. From Returning Officer, Kaiapoi, intimating that Mr E. Smethurst was elected, but that no nominations were received for the second vacancy. From Returning Officer Mandeville and Rangiora district, stating Mr F. Horrell had been elected fcr thac district, but no nominations had been made f° r the second vacancy. ID was decided, on motion of Mr Horrell, that the Kaiapoi Council be asked to recommend Mr Mathews for appointment to the Board. On motion of Mr istnethurst, it was : decided the Mandeville and Ranciora Road Board be asked to recommend a member for appointment by the Governor. The month's tonnage was-Inwards 290, outwards 181 ton*. In committee the Board disouesed the signalman's salary, and on Sming, reported he be paid £» for repairing a boaCand the qnestion ofsalary for a full Board.
