TIME BALL. LYTTELTON.
■he time ball is dropped daily, Sundays and holidays excepted, at 1 o'cloclc p.m., ew Zealand mean time, which is equivalent to 13.90 Greenwich mean time of the previous day, being calculated for the 172* 2ff East Longitude, and llhr 30min East of Greenwich mean time. The ball will be raised at about 2min to 1 p.m., and will be at the top about Imin to 1 p.m. When taking the time be careful to tote the exaec moment the ball leaves the top of the mast. bhould the ball pnt drop at the proper time, it will be kept at the cop tor ac leant |wo minutes, and then lowered Hiowly.
