TIMARU C.C. v. LANCASTBB PARK C.C. The second match of the Tfinaro tour was played yesterday in Lancaster Park, and resulted in a second win for the visitors. Perry winning the toss sent in Jefferson and Bryara to face the bowling of North and wilding, and North only allowed Jefferson to make 4. Smith, taking bis place, began to work at once, and 10 after 10. was telegraphed in rapid succession. Wilding changing his bowling repeatedly but with no avail until he himself tried underhand slows, when Stevens, field* ing at mid-off, held one from Smith after a faultless innings, which included one 5 and eight 4's. the last three of these being made in the same over. The telegraph here showed 108—2—%. Morrison succeeded and paid such .forcible attention to Wilding's slows as to make another change necessary. Bryars, who had been playing carefully, soon after played on one of Labatt's and retired with 43 to his credit; these included one 5 and three 4's. C. T. H. Perry also showed good form, but Morrison soon left him, and Walmaley's form behind the wickets was quite too much for Perry. Then a rot sec in until Raymond appeared, ■ when things again looked somewhat rosy. Orr and Wicksteed both were beaten by .Wilding, but Bristol hit in rare style, he and Raymond raising the score by 63 runs for the last wicket before Labatt sent a fast yorker down to Bristol. His. 41 were made ia double quick time, and included one 5 and five 4's, .Raymond's not out innings of 21 being very patiently compiled, bis cutting aaaiu being well timed. With 235 runs to beat, Wilding and Waimsley went out to meet the Tiinaru bowlers, but BristolVpace was too much for. Wilding, and Wulmsley placed an easy one ia Bryars' hands at mid-on. Labatt played both bowlers with cocflfidence, but no one could stay with him except "Jones, who was sent back to the pavilion oa an appeal from Morrison behind the wicketa. As the innings closed for the surprising small total of 38 a follow on was the unavoidable result. Morrison's I form behind the wickets, if not so brilliant as Walmsley'e, was a strong proof of his nerve. Labatt and Waimsley began the second attempt, and the partnership resulted in 58, Labatt getting run out through no fault of nis owu. His innings was made without a chance, and was characterised by clean, hard hitting, his one 5 and three 4's beiug sent away with admirable precision. North succeeded, and hit all round him, seconding Waimsley's efforts with great heartiness. Hushes, however, dissolved i the partnership, causing Waimsley to retire with 37 to his credit, which were made by good sound hitting, although the field was too kind to him more than dnce. Jones was again held behind the wicket off Hughes, as in the £rsc iunings, and Wanklyu did his best with North to raise the score respectably, but the latter, after pulling Perry aflf the middle stump for 6, got in front to a straight one from Smith. His score also included three neat drives for 4 each. Wauklyn also totted up 20, but after his departure it was all over, and as three men were abseut, the innings dosed fpr 130, thus leaving the Tiinaiu C.C. victors by an innings aud 67 runs. Morrison again had more than his share to do behind the wicket, hut was fully equal to the occasion. The following are the scores:— TIMABU CO. First Innings. C. A. Jefferson, b North ... ... 4 W.
