EXHIBITION AT KAIAPOI.
Last evening a novel exhibition of *a and industrial works was opened lnttw Kaiapoi Wesleyan Sunday bchootawin, In the large main room had been dis. played with great taste aad care an immense collection of very rare and unique exhibits, Including plotam of historical and general latest curios, as well as natural curiosities from Peru, Arabia, Egypt, Brazil, Persia, SIJL &c. There wa9 a beautiful collection of geographical specimens, with acumberof models and needlework. In tbe latter class are several handsome pieces of tapestry and quilts. In one of the quilts, made by ladies In Lyttelton. are f4O pieces, containing autographs. Opposite to it was displayed a quilt made by ladfa of Kaiapoi. In the recess is a Christmas tree. The class rooms off the toala hall had been taken up as au old cariosity l shop, in which are to be seen the photographs, relics and reminiscences of eld set* tiers. Then there is a fernery, next a flaril show, a mock show and refreshment roosßr The opening ceremony Included an addraas by Mr R. Blakeley, Mayor, who declared tbe Exhibition open. During the tlma ii was open several performers were to giva I their services for a promenade concert. *
