{press association telegram.] ' * DUNEDIN, December 17. f .At a meeting of the Hospital Trustees a letter. was received from Dr. Batohelor, stating that owing to the unsanitary condition of the Hospital, rendering it unsafe to undertake the treatment of or perform operations in gynecological cases, he did not propose to seek re-election on the honorary staff, but his services would be available when the present unsatisfactory state of affairs was remedied. The Chairman stated that since Dr. Batchelor had ceased to act a number of serious operations had been performed, and very successfully, by the other surgeons on the staff. The letter was received, and Dr. Jeffcoat was appointed specialist.
