CANTERBURY CHESS CLUB.
The Handicap Tournament, which was commenced in May, is making rapid progress, and is undoubtedly the most interesting contest the Club has yet held. There are twenty-seven competitors, and, as wiU be seen from the score below, the first four players are very even. The following are the scores of those who have won a majority of their games:—
