A SERIOUS CHARGE.

William Sanderson, who was referred to in a paragraph yesterday about the divorce proceedings, was arrested last night charged with attempting , to procure the abortion of hie wife. He was meditating a clearance for San Francisco. Hβ had been winding up business, and when arrested had over .£2OOO on him. Hβ carried on business in Moray Place aa a fiuit importer. Sanderson was brought up at the Police Court and remanded to Friday, bail being allowed, himself in £1000 and two sureties Jα 4500 each. Ur Eraser, who defends, denies that his client intended leaving the colony. He said the proceedings were instituted at the instance of Mrs Sander* goa'a father.
