The sales close on Saturday. The third series will begin on June 2ith. Tbe limit has been fixed at 350,000 bales. The fourth series is set down for September 16th, the •amount being unlimited. Received May Bth, 1.45 a.m. London, May 7. The New Plymouth Harbor Board debentures have dropped to JE7O. Wanganui, Otago, and Napier have declined {\ to 3. Tallow—Muttbn, 25s to 25s 6d; beef, 24s 6d to 255. New Zealand mutton, 4§dL Oxhides, 3§d. A London telegram published yesterday referring to a sale of a cargo of New Zealand wheat, April shipment, was mutilated; in transmission. The price came;through as 3s (.d but should have been 34a 6di Messrs Berry, ' Barclay and Co,, London, telegraph under date > 6th May :—" April cargo, 8000 quarters, sold at 34s 6d. Present price and state of the market for f. aq. New Zealand wheat at Mark Lane, Sss 6d per quarter of 4961b, ex granary, saoks extra. Market stationary.- Markec opened firm, but is now somewhat weaker." The New tile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cable message from London, da.ted May 6th :-*■* Wheat—The market is firm owing to probable shortage American winter ciop.
