The amounts which exceeded the estimate were :—lnterest, &c, £9197; rents paid over, £1958; Colonial Treasurer's Department, £196; Native Lands Court, £1698. The expenditure of the Post and Telegraphs was £10,049 below the estimate.

[Note.—Some of these figures have evidently been mangled in transmission. There Iβ a palpable error in the expenditure on Education. The amount telegraphed, £36,564 11s 6d, should probably be £365,564 odd, as the sum appropriated for the purpose was £369,331.]
