THE PRIMACY QUESTION.
AN AUSTRALIAN OPINION. (PKfc PBBS3 ASSOCIATION.] Received April 17th, 2 a.m. Melbourne, April 16. Referring to the Primate difficult; the AtguS) while accepting Bishop S titer's statement that the election was irregular, states it does not iu&tify the position assumed before the public, and by no manner of special pleading can he get rid of the fact that he consented to and took part in the election. The spirit of ecclesiastical law in New Zealand certainly is that the Primate be elected by the Church, and whether Bishop Suter is technically right or wrong, there is no possible doubt he violated the spirit of the law, and brought the Anglican community into embarrassment.
