THE LATE BAND CONTEST.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS.

Sib,—There appears to be a deal of dissatisfaction here in Christchurch at the result of the Exhibition band contest. A correspondent in the Times some days aso infers that the Christchurch bands did not receive fair play. I think, sir, the three gentlemen appointed by the Musical Committee— gentlemen of high musical abilities— that fact alone is a crushing ret>ly to dissatisfied bandsmen. The reports published in the Dtmedin papers are -wonderfully good, and should satisfy anyone who has the welfare of bahft music at heart. ....-- Xhe malcontents should take their beating and leara-a lesson from the winners,. no t give their opinions and find fault wich the judges' decision,—l am, &c, Visitob.
