GRAIN MARKET.

Mxssbs H. Matsok and Co., associated with the National M. and A. Coy. of New Zealand, Limited, report for the week ending April 12th:— - Wheat—values remain unchanged, notwithstandtna the London market being depressed and having suffered a decline in values. The good supply of freight in Lyttelton helps to maintain values, as consignments can be sent direct and avoid hantinnfc into store. Sales are freely made at i* i for Tuscan, & 9£d for Pearl, and 238u . t Hunters white. Oat» are easier, and the enquiry is hardly so brisk; growers are, however, not offering freely. There should be a steady demand in Sydney during the season, unless the market is overdone with consignments. Milliug Is Bd, short eed Iβ 6d to Is 7d, Duns Is 6d. . Barley—The market is inundated with samples of medium and common Qualities, and for which there is very little sale. Prime is *caree at 3s, medium 2s 6d to 2s 9d, feed Iβ 6d to Is 9d. Potatoes—Kidneys are worth 30s, Der* went* 40s at couaUy stations. Peas—Blue Px-uaalans 2s 9d to 3s. Beans—2s od. Cocksfoot—Prime machine dressed 3fd, farmers' samples to 3id. Ryegrass 4s iJd to 5s for best samples* uncleaaed lines 3s 6i to 4 s. Dairy Produce—Butter 6d to 7d, cheese 3d to Sid. Quotations are f.0.b., sacks extra. t At auction on Saturday we disposed of zrain as follows:—Dun oats Is 6d, chick wheat 2s Id to 2s %i, feed barley Is 6d to Is 9d, cocksfoot secuads Id to 2d, ryegrass (rouffh) 2e, kidney potatoes 27s to SOs, peas 3s. Wβ sold at the following prices:— Wheat—Chicks, 2s Id to 2a s£d; no milling sold. Oate —A line of Duns realised Is 6d, Owners'. reserved on white oats' were too high. Barley—Market overstocked with medium qualities, which are not moving. Feed sola ac Is 6d to Is Bd. ; Cocksfoot—'Seconds, l|d to 23. : Ryegrass— A parcel of rough aeedeold at! We held our third sale of the season at oar stores this day and catalogued a considerable entry, there was a good attendance of buyers, and we placed the greater part of our entry as follows :— Wheat—At auction we did not offer any milling samples, but during the week w6 have sold privately a? follows:—Tuscan, 2s 9d to §3 lid; pearl, 2s 8d to 2s9d; Hunter's, 2s 7d, f.0.b.. sacks extra. At auction, we sold a large quantity of seconds wheat at from la 9d to 29 3d per bushel* Oats—We offered several lines of oats OS follows:—Good feed. Is 6d to Iβ 7d«, A middling sample of dun oats at Is 6d. Barley—freed at froui Is 6d to 2a. Peas—We sold a fair sample of Partridge peas at 2s lid per bushel. .■■... Derwent Potatoes—We sold the first lot of the season's offering at 41s per ton, ex store. - . Kidneys weire difficult to quit.
