Sundays tnd nolidaya excepted, at loaockp.m., New Zealand mean time, which is equivalent to 13.30 Greenwich mean time of the previous da;, being calculated for the 172* 3QT East Longitude, and llhr 30min East of Greenwich mean time. The ball will be raised at about 2min to 1 p.m., and will be as the top about imln to 1 p.m. . . ± When taking the time be careful to fcote the exact moment the ball leaves the top of the maet. Should the ball not drop at the proper Ume, it will be kept at the top for at least two minutes, and then lowered slowlj.
