NOTICE is Hereby Given that in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorises vested in him by section 267 of the Counties Act, 1883, and at the request of the Selwyn County Council, his Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand did, by Proclamation dated the eleventh day of January, 1890, and duly published in the " New Zealand Gazette," No. 4, of the 23rd day of January, 1890, Proclaim and Declare theXande described in the Schedule hereto (and herennder written) to be Water-Races, &3 denned by section 26S of the said Act, to be known by the name of the Waimakariri Water-Races Extension; and further that the Waimakariri river, in the County of Selwyn, should be a stream which might be taken for the purpose of supplying the said Water-Races.
