PROPERTY SALES.

Messrs Tones, Norton and Co. report --—There has been a considerable demand for town properties of the right sort, especially six to eight-roomed nouses, for which we have many enquiries. We have this week placed two valuable city {>roperties(one being Mr Marriott's property v Cashel street) at prices quite satisfactory to tbe vendors and to ourselves. There is also a considerable demand for small suburban blocks of from five to ten acres, partly for speculative and partly for building purpose.*-. One pleasing feature of the present demand for properties, and one which we think more than anything else Indicates retnpning prosperity, is the fact that nearly all our customers are prepared to pay cash straight out, and terms or accommodations are seldom asked for. The present activity in the land market ia cart-inly an evidence that money Is more plentiful than it has been for some considerable time past. We trust it will continue and increase.
