Napibr, February 5. At the ram fair to-day 1800 sheep were yarded. Owing to the large supply and the length of the catalogue bladings became sluggish at the end of the day, but over IaQO were sold. Bidding was irregular, and prices on the whole not quite so good as last year, aged sheep being unsaleable, fine woolled rains were neglected, the run being more in favor of strong woolled sheep than in former year-, Bomney Marsh were sluggish, and there was a demand for Down sheep. The highest price given was 52_ga for a sheep bred locally by Mr j")illon, Patangaca; the next, 31gs, for a ram bred byMr H.R. Russell, Wainukurau. The principal imported lots sold as follows :— field, Oamaru, average stud rams, £17 15s 9d; flock, £5 _s 7d; general average, £o 16s, Menlove, Oamaru, stud, £11 5s 9d; flock, £i 18a Sd ; general average, £5 _sßd. M. Holmes, Oamaru, stud only, averaged £17 12s 6dL A considerable number of imported sheep were sold before the sale.
