THE IRISH DELEGATES.
- On Thursday Sir T. Grattan Esmonds visited Temuka, and was met on his arrival by a large number of his sympathisers, who cheered him as he stepped ttponthe platform. He was received by 'Messrs Qulnn (Chairman of the Reception Committee), J. M. Twomey, G. McShebe Gentleman, J. Fitzgerald, and others, and was driven by Mr P. Wareing to the Crown Hotel. In the course of the afternoon he had a drive around the neighborhood, and visited the Dairy Factory, &c In the evening he addressed a crowded meetIng in the large drill-shed, which was appropriately decorated. The chair was taken by Mr K. F. Gray, Chairman of the Town Board, and upon the stage were a number of residents of the town and neighborhood. Sir Thomas' address was well received, and at its close the Rev. G. Barclay, in a very telling speech, moved—"That this meeting is of opinion * that Home Rule, so far as it contemplates the amelioration of matters agrarian and soda! in Ireland, is worthy of all sympathy and so-oport. , * The motion was seconded by the Rsv. T. A. Hamilton, and carried unanimously. Mr M.
