LACROSSE.

A game was played at Hagley Park on Saturday afternoon, between sides captained by Messrs T. D. flarman and D. Wood, and although there was not a full muster of players a good game resulted. It was decided at the commencement of the game that a goal should count only if obtained from a pass, but, notwithstanding that this rule tends to diminish the scoring very much, a large number of goals was obtained. The passing was on the whole particularly good, and very few mistakes were made in catching. Mr F. Goldingbam was in splendid form and played the best game on the ground, exhibiting great skill in dodging and checking. Messrs R. Blakiston, H. Andrews and P. Wood also showed to advantage, and played well into each other's hands. On Mr D. Wood's side, Mr W. Macdonald played well on the defence, throwing with gre.it certainty, despite the slippery nature of the ground. Messrs C. Blakiston, A. Barman and C. Inglis also played well, the latter obtaining three goals. Mr A. Harman is improving every game, and will soon become a player of the first rank. Mr D. Wood was in his usual good form, being always in the right place when assistance was wanted by his side, his play being characterised by excellent judgment and great coolness. Of the most successful scorers Mr Goldingham stands foremost, having obtained 5 goals. The ground was very wet and slippery at the south end, rendering the play at that end of a very haphazard nature. A Committee meeting of the Club was held before the game commenced, at which Messrs R. H. Rhodes and C. H. Trinp weie elected Committeemen, and Mr F. S. troldingham Secretary end Treasurer, in the place of Mr T. D. Harraan, who has been promoted to the captaincy of the Club, In the place of Mr W. P. Studbolme resigned.
