Petty Larceny.—Wm. Daye (thirteen) and Wm. Tidyman (fourteen) pleaded guilty to stealing four oranges, value 3d, the property of Joseph Cawthine, fruiterer, on July 9th. As the boys had before been punished for a similar offence, they were now ordered to receive each twelve strokes of a birch rod and to be then discharged. Undersized Mullet.—George S. Husband, Edwin Senior, Peter Faron, and Joseph Germano, fishmongers, were charged with having sold, or exposed for sale, flsh called mullet under the weight, each flsh, of 4oz, contrary to the provisions of the Fisheries Conservation Act, 1884. Mr Martin, who appeared to prosecute, applied for, and obtained an adjournment till the following day, on account of defendants' counsel being engaged in the Supreme Court. Insulting Language.—Agnes White, for whom Itr Russell appeared, was charged with using insulting language on July 6th to Agnes Steele, who prayed for sureties. The defendant was bound over in the sum of £10 to keep the peace for six months.
