MR ISITT'S LECTURE.
TO THS XDITOB OF THB PBKBS. . Sib,—After reading the letter signed bj " Home Baler" In your issue of July Bth, I think it is very unfair indeed, inasmuch as there are no reasons given in saying what he has about tnis gymnasium and the Wesleyans of Sydenham. I certainly do think that he has only supplied the public with one-half of his Information, and furthermore, that he should substantiate his statement with Institution being used as a tool to eico 2SX afoot&. and, moreover usin« bad language. Those that do not omodt ffi spare time in this TO climate around street.corners, and InduWin telUng aU sorts of profane yarns and playing practical jokes of equally as iSd a character. I believe that this gymnasium will put a stop to the use of this language, and at the same time it will give better opportunities for practicing the scientific parts of this game, which they would not be able to do oac in the open at night. As to the latter class, it will form a focus of healthy amusement combined with mental as well as bodily exercise. Iβ It right that we should rear up these classes of boys who are no better than a combination of a man, beaet and * pipe, without making an effort to reform them; for we must >»**"« have to look to them to ment of the country upon their snouldera. —Yours, ficc J. Bbabw
