CRICKET.
All arrangements have been made for the tour south projected by the Ashley County Cricket Cluo, and the. team will leave Christchurch by express on Tuesday morning, playing against Ashburton on that day. On Wednesday the team will journey to Timaru, and the match there will be played oh Thursday, leaving by 7.20 a.m. on Friday for Oamaru, j which will be reached at 11 a.m., and a : match commenced there Immediately on arrival. On Saturday the team will take the express to Dunedin, and play against the Phoenix Club on Monday and Tuesday, the Carisbrook on Wednesday, and another ! Club on Thursday, returning to Chrisiohurch by express on Friday. The follow- ' ing are the players who have decided to go :—Messrs B. Blunden, H. rown, A. T. hapman, E. Feary, E. B. Good, O. H. HaskellTH. J. Horrell, C. Mason, EL B. Millton, B. Warner, and E. Wilder. Should the weather prove favorable the trip will be a most enjoyable one, and the team hope to win a fair proportion of the matches played. A meeting of the Kaiapoi Cricket Club was held on Wednesday, Mr G. H. Blackwell presiding. A statement of the Club's affairs was read, showing a small deficiency. It was resolved to close the season on the 23rd instant with a match against the Woollen Factory team. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr B. Moore for bis donation to the Club. The meeting then adjourned for a fortnight. The concluding match of th« Upper Riecarton Club for the season 1888-83 will be played at Upper Kiqeartou on Saturday at2.3op.rn., when the following game will take place:—Loyal Riccarton Oddfellows—J.
