The Union Company's steamer Hauroto, Captain Mcintosh, arrived at 6.30 a.m. Jresterday from Dunedin and Timaru. She eft for Sydney via Wellington last night. . The barque Notero sailed for Sydney at an early hour yesterday morning. At 11.30 o'clock yesterday morning the New Zealand Shipping Company's barque Bakaia was towed out to sea and sailed for London. She is in splendid trim, and should make a good passage Home. The Union Company's steamer Botorua, Captain Neville, arrived at 8.30 a.m. yesterday from Dunedin. Her purser, Mr E. A. Murley, reports leaving Dunedin at 3 p.m. on the 11th, arriving here as stated above. Experienced fine weather, accompanied with smooth sea to arrival. At 9 p.m. she left for Wellington. The Union Company's steamer Waihora, Captai l " Popham, arrived from Sydney and way ports at an early hour yesterday morning. Her purser reports leaving Sydney at 8 fura. on the 28th, was abeam Cape Brett at 0 a.m. On the sth. making fast to Auckland wharf at 7.10 p.m. same. Left Auckland again at 12.15 p.m. on the 7th, called at Napier and Gisborne Coming down the coast, and arrived at Wellington at 10.15 _.__, on the 10th. Left again at 3.10 p.m. on the 11th, arriving here as stated above. Experienced fine Weather, with light and variable winds, throughout the voyage. E>he steamed for Melbourne via Southern ports last night. The barque Salamanca, from Auckland, arrived in port yesterday morning after a {rood passage down the coast of six days. She comes here to load for London on account of the New Zealand Shipping Company. __c Salamanca is not a stranger to this place, as she arrived here last year on the 21st April, but during her absence she has been converted from the ship rig to that of a barque. Owing to the heavy N.W. g_le which was prevailing yesterday, the barques Salamanca and Earl Granville were not berthed. They will lie out in the harbor until to-day, and if the weather moderates be towed inside. Messrs Fraser and Malcolm report the sale of the schooner John Bell to a Wellknown trader between this port and the Sounds. The barque Paetole clears for Sydney to-day. She will get away to sea this afternoon. FOr Akaroa the s.a. Jane Douglas steamed hence yesterday afternoon. The New Zealand Shipping Company's B.M. —a. Tongariro is due here at an early hour this morning from Napier. The buirquentine Pennont was yesterday chartered for Newcastle by Messrs Cuff and Graham.
