It is reported the inhabitants of the Coomoro Island Group, lying between Madagascar and the African mainland, are seeking British protection to avoid French aggression. Received January 25th, 1,30 a.m. Pabis, January 24. M. Goblet has discussed the Pacific question with Lord Lytton, British Ambassador at Paris, and instructed M. Waddington, French Ambassador at London, to approach Lord Salisbury with reference to the annexation of the Tahui Islands by England.
