Fires Iα the city are indicated by the following tolls for the different wards :— North-west ward ... 1 toll North-eastward... ... 2 tolle South-east ward ... ... 3 tolls South-west ward 4 tpUs The dividing streets of the city are Worcester and Colombo. The railway horn gives three blasts a fire in Christchurch, and two for a fire n Sydenham.
