THE TWENTY-FIFTH MATCH-v TRINITY COLLEGE, DUBLIN.
Yesterday, in very dull weather, the colonists, who had beaten Ireland on Saturday, December 3rd, turned up in College Park, Dublin, to play Trinity. After a very fast game, in which the home club had the best of the play, the result was a draw, both sides having registered a goal and a try. In the first portion Trinity, with the wind, scored their points in ten minutes, and after having the advantage in the first half suddenly broke up, and allowed the visitors to score two tries (Anderson and Wynyard) very softly, the latter of which Williams converted into a goal. The Maoris had neither Keogh nor W. Warbrick, and played somewhat roughly towards the end. Walpole sained both tries for the Collegians, Johnston converting the second. Some 2000 spectators were present. Sides :— New Zealanders — McCausland (back), Goldsmith (Taare), Gage, and F. Warbrick (three-quarter backs), Elliott, Wynyard, and A. Warbrick (half backs), and Webster, Taiaroa, Ellison, Rene, Williams, Stuart, and And.r.on (forwards). • Trinity College — Walkington (back), Dunlop, Johnston and Walpole (threequarter backs), Browning aud A. Macdonald (half backs), and Ritchie, Stack, Johns, Fletcher, Jameson, . M'Donnell, Green and Pocock (forwards).
