. In Barbadoes street Catholic Church tm Sunday last Bishop Grimes said that he had received from Borne the official documents concerning the martyrdom of Father Peter Made Louis Chamel at the island of Fortuna.
These doenmenta were read by the Bishop, and gave a full account of the inquiry held by-the-Oongregation of Sacred Kites as to the fact of martyrdom, the cause of martyr-donv-and toe miracles performed in coa|»—rt»"Ti therewith. All these investigations, had been of a favorable character, and the people were now for the first time able to invoke his memory aaa-martyr of the Catholic Church. Dr. Grimes then went en to give an aooonnt of the life of the martyr from his birth in •Stance in 1803 down to the time of his csx the «i«»d of Furtuna in asil.
