KOWAI PASS JOCKEY CLUB.
A general meeting of the Eowai Pass Jockey Club took place on Monday night at Mr Keane's hoteL Ten members were present, under the Chairmanship of Mr H. Cassidy. Last year's statement of accounts was read and passed, the balancesheet showing JE9 3s 4d cash, and £8 of available assets, convertible into money. Messrs Thomson, Kearney and Fraser were elected members of the Club. It was proposed and carried that a race meeting be held on Thursday, March 14th. A Committee of five was elected to drawup a programme not exceeding £150. A number of gentlemen were chosen as Stewards, and a Committee of nine to carry on the Club affairs elected, consisting of Messrs Cassidy, Chesterfield, Cooper, Lindop, Thomson, Kearney. Williamson, Graham and Fraser. Other officers appointed are:—Judge, Mr McMillan; Starter, Mr Graham; Clerk of the Scales, Mr Williamson: Clerk of the Course, Mr W. Gould; Handicapper, Mr George Cutts; Treasurer. Mr Cunningham. Secretaryship not filled, the former holder of the position stating his inability to continue in the office. The next meeting of the Committee was fixed for the 28th inst.
