TIMARU WOOL SALES.

[Br Telegraph.] [from our correspondent.) Timaru, January 22. The second wool sale of the season was held to-day, when some 3000 bales were offered. The sale was not nearly so successful as last, and a slight decline is recorded. In addition to the fact tbat many bales of better class wool had to be passed in, bidding was not so spirited as at the first sale, two reasons, it is said, accounting for this —namely, the clashing of the sales with those at Invercargill and to the presence at the last sales of a direct steamer in port, when prices were thereby enhanced considerably.
