The match Spreydon v Sydenham Druids was played on Saturday, and ended in a win for Spreydon by 63 rubs. The scores were—Spreydon, 59 and '82; Donnolly 8 and 20, Young 14 and 7, Curtain 2 and 12. Druids, 39 and 39; Skelton 2 and 11, Ford Oand 12. For Spreydon Curtain, Cox, and McNamara bowled well. For the Druids, Ford, Halliday, aud Skelton were the most successful.
The Sydenham Wesleyan Club met the Representatives of the V.M.C. Association's Cricket Club on Saturday last, at Hagley Park. The latter team went in first to the bowling of Messrs Ritchie and Ayrey, and put together 40. F. Wilkinson topping the score with 17. Sydenham made 27 in their first innings. The bowling of Simms and Lawdenson seemed more than equal to the Sydenham batsmen. The V.M.C.A. followed with their second innings, aud again made 40. The Sydenham men then went in and had half-an-hour to time to make 53 runs to equal thes'other team's'seore. At the call of time they had made 55 for two wickets, thus winning the game by 8 wickets and 2 runs. The fielding of both sides was very good. Barge's Midland team defeated Kaiapoi at Hagley Park on Saturday by 73 runs on the first innings. The Midlanders went in first, and by steady batting totalled 119 before being got rid of. Mumford was top scorer, with a well played 38, while Hill (16) and Savage (12) also showed good form. The visitors then went to the wickets, but made a poor show against the bowling of- Garty and Barry,'and when the last man was dismissed only 46 runs had been scored. Kaiapoi followed on, and by the call of time had made 83 for the loss of seven wickets. Uru hit hard: for 29, while Rblleston and Pearce showed good cricket in compiling 22 and 13 respectively. Dalgleish was the most successful bowler for Kaiapoi, but Uru, of whose bowling we had heard such great accounts, was comparatively unsuccessful, his three wickets costing about 50 ruus. .-•..,•
[FRESS association TEEEGRAM.] WELLINGTON, January 20. Tbe heat for |he Senior Cup Cricket match between Wellington Clubs and the Midland was- played yesterday. The latter went first to the wickets, and the last wicket fell for 146. R. Blacklock being the principal scorer with 50, W. J. Salmon coming next with 35. The Wellingtons put together 104.. R. Gore, a second eleven bat, being'top scorer with 32. This match, which will be resumed on Saturday, practically decides the Senior Cup. "-■,-. \
