THE UNION STEAMSHIP COMPANY.
The rapid advancing strides which the trade between the South Sea Islands and Victoria and New South Wales has undergone has necessitated the U.S.S. Company placing more tonnage at the disposal of their clients. It is not so very long ago since one small steamer was sufficient for this service, aad lately the s.s. Pukaki relieved the s.s. Taupo, now the s.s. Hauroto is to be placed in the same trade, in conjunction with the Pukaki.
