THE APPOINTMENT OF GOVERNORS.
[PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Received November 26th, 10 aan. London, November 24. Truth recommends Queensland not to vote the Governor's salary if Sir H. Blake is forced on the colony against it will. The Daily Chronicle considers the request of the colonies to have the names of the Governors submitted before appointment is reasonable. The colonies are entitled to the same consideration as foreign countries, which are always consulted before ambassadors are appointed. It is understood the Cabinet have agreed to allow Sir H. Blake to resign, but decline to disclose the name of his successor privately to the Queensland Government. It is thought at a later period they may be willing to consider the opinions of the colonies as to the appointment of Governors. The rumor as to Lord Carrmgton resigning the Governorship of New South Wales-next year is reaffirmed.
