♦ FURTHER DEVELOPMENTS. [per press association.] Received November Ist, 12.15 p-m. London, October 31. By the direction of President Cleveland, Secretary Bayard has officially informed Sir Sackvilie West that he Is no longer acceptable to the Government of the United States as British Minister at Washington. It is understood this step has been taken in consequence of Lord Salisbury's attention having been called to the action of the Minister without result. Received November 2nd, 1.10 a.m. Washington, October 31. Sir L. Sackville West's passports have been forwarded to the British Embassy.
