HORRIBLE ATROCITIES IN NEW GUINEA.
• — MURDER OF 150 NATIVES. WHOLESALE CANNIBALISM. [PXR PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Received November 2nd, U0 &.m. London, October 31. News is to hand of fearful atrocities committed by New Guinea natives. It appears that the Okrika natives lured a hostile tribe called the Ogonis into their territory, and after a mock discussion set upon and overpowered them, killing 150. The Okrikas afterwards cooked and ate the bodies of their victims. The British Resident with an armed party, rescued ten captives and restored order. The chief offenders were heavily fined.
