The Attoknit Gxsr_-__x. moved the tbird leading of the Gisborne Harbor Act, 1884, Amendment BilL Mr Bucklxt protested against such an important measure being brought forward ao late in the _eesi->n. The Bill was read a third time and passed. THI KOKAU CLAIMS. Sir F. Whttakxr, in moving the second reading of the Mokau-Mohakatino Bill, said Government had the measure under considpraticn for a long time, aud the present Bill had been the outco - c of a Commission which enquired ie to the f *cts of t'-e caae. No time had been lost in bringing the present Bill forward, and G;>vernrceat believed it wa3 fair aad j ost to Josbu* Jones. After reviewing cue evidence taken before the Commissio:-. as Attorney-Gene-ral, he sail he did not think Jones had any very great claims sgains' the Government, and the present Bill provided for all .'hat waa necessary, as it gave Jones an opp n untty of completing his leasee with uttr. _i* iris if he wouM do *o. Tne Bid was comin tttd, read a third tame, and passed. The Council a-"j urned at 11 30 till 3. The Council re-umed at 3 p.m. GIBBOKNI HABBOB BILL. A Message was rs&d from the House of Representatives agreeing to the amend--iin-» made by the Council in the Gisborne H *rb >r Act Amendment Bill. The Council adjourned at 3 5 p m.
