At Tattersall's last night Volley was supported for the Melbourne Cup and Derby to the extent of £15,000, at 1000 to 20. 4000 to 1000 was taken about her straight out for the Derby. The following horses have been scratched for the Caulfield Cup:—Volga,SirGalabad, Noumea, Precedence, Faithful, Niagara, Lady Betty, Lady-in-Waiting, Benzon, Churchill, Playboy. Received August 29th, 1.20 a.m. MELBOURNE, August 28. The second payment for the Caulfield Gup was made to-day. In addition to the Bcxatchings already cabled the following hare dropped out:—Merrimu, Theorist, FoUy, little John, Silver King, Master John, Bolingbroke, Mizpah, Laaland, Nabob, Marlborough, Elti, Pugilist. Ninety-two horses are left in the race. Following is a complete list of the Worses left in for the Caulfield Cup :— Cauotkld Cup, of 1500 soys; 1000 soya to the first horse, 300 soys to the second, and 200 boTb to the third.
