THE DUNEDIN SYNOD.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS. Sir,—The bending of a paragraph in your valuable paper of, I think, Wednesday last, was as above. I Now ther.e are two Synods meeting in Dunedin at present. The Anglican, with thirteen ministers present ana eighteen laity. It dates from I_7l, when it was constituted by Bishop Jenner. There is also the Synod of the Presbyterian Church of Otago and Southland, with sixty-three ministers present, and forty-two laymen, making a total of one hundred and live members. It is more than ja quarter of a century old, having been formed in 1860. Such being the facts of the case, as nearly as I can make them out, is it not a piece of assumption to speak of the Anglican Synod in Otago, as T/ie Synod?—l am, &c, A. S. Sumption.
