There is'somc talk of a dark horse being carefully nursed in the Government stable to start" for the Sydenham plate, but he is altogether out of condition, having been at grass for a considerable time. I nder these circumstances, his chance of being tit for the event is a small one. He ran very badly in a trial cantor at a recent Grey meeting. l>eiiig unable to get a place, and pulled up distanced and dead lame.
