EYRETON.
The Beturning Officer for the Eyreton Licensing Committee only received the nomination papers of four persons to serve as members ot the Committee, via., Bichard Evans, Matthew E. HiattC Phillip C. Threlkeld, and Thomas Faahby, so that the election falls through, and the Governor will have to nominate a Committee. Very little interest appears to be taken in this distriot as regards the working of the new Licensing Act, as only one person voted last year on the local option clause.
NELSON, February IS. . At the licensing election for the city today, the old Committee, which has sat since the Act came into operation, <vaa reelected. • Two new men were nominated, but received few votes.
