Mr Service has tendered n_ resignation to the Governor, and Mr Gillies has undertaken to form, a new Ministry. The following members are certain to be included in the new Cabinet j-—-Mr Gillies, Premier and Colon—l Treasurer; Mr Deacon, Chief Secretary j Mr Wrixton, Attorney-General; Mr Pearson, Minister for Education ; Mr. Dow, Minister of Lands.

'" DISASTROUS; FIBB. SYDNEY, February 17. A most destructive fire broke out to-day on the premises of Messrs Holds—orth and Maopherson, wholesale ironmongers. The loss is estimated at £20,000, which, however, is covered by insurance. Messrs Holdsworth and Macphe—on are insured to the extent of £24,000, divided among the following offices: —Commercial, Union Assurance, the Royal, the North British, the Northern, the Liverpool, London, and Globe, and the Australian Alliance (Melbourne) Companies.

The Legislative Assembly met to-day and adjourned until to-morrow. Sir John Robertson, Premier, is reported to be in eommnnication with his Excellency the Governor.
