NEW ZEALAND EXHIBITION.

A meeting of the Executive Committee of the New Zealand Exhibition was held this site—.son to consider the statements made in the "Timaru Herald" respecting the manner in which the return of exhibits was arranged. The Chairman said the article in the paper in question was actuated by a personal grievance, and that on inquiry in the proper quarter the statements could easily have been proved to be incorrect. Besolntions were carried—(l) That the statements contained in the
«* Timaru Herald " respecting the general manner in which the exhibits had been treated are untrue in every respect. (2) That of 200 PThibito in the industrial branch only about a dozen have not been returned, and the officials have been unable to find the owners of these, owing (to imperfect labelling of eafaibit*. (8) That
Mr Trigga, of the " Timaru Herald," who complained that two small articles belonging to him had .not been returned, has now admitted by letter that his exhibits were returned to Timaru on the 18th December along with the Timaru Main School .exhibits.' - i,: . -". : V
