At Kaiapoi a paddock of wheat had yielded 73 bushels per acre, exclusive of seconds. At Saveaewood a paddock of oata had given out 71 bushels. At Woodend a paddock of oats gave out 63J bushels. At Banner Downs, Fernside, 105 acres oats gave out 49 bushels per acre. At Ashley Downs 180 acres wheat and oata gave out a return of 314 buahela. At Woodend a crop of wheat pat down to yield 35 bushels yielded SO bushels per acre. At West Eyreton a field of wheat estimated to return 35 to 40 boshels has yielded 51 buthels; Mid over a large farm here there is a return of folly , 35 to 40 bushels per acre all round. In the paddocK at Baogiora where the Howard's reaper trial took place, the actual yield was within a trifle of 40 bushels per aore, that estimated by us being 30 to 85 bushels,, and this is the lightest crop that Mr Bum has on his farm. Everywhere the estimated yield hos been under-estimated, and the returns from the threshing machines for this season's harvest are most satisfactory. The grain is in beautiful condition, the wheat as hard &b shot, and fit for export, the oate bright and plump, the ' barley a good color, aad harvested ia, grand order.
